network

Before developing and distributing the idea for an international network of the performing arts, a clear definition is necessary.

In the common interpretation, networks are used for exchanging information between people. This definition is too general. Rather, it is a common sharing of resources. Therefore it is necessary to grasp the resources of all single partners and to fix which ones should be used together.

A good example for such a kind of sharing of resources is the project FUNDUS GLOBAL.

In different countries are different possibilities of financial support that all have their pros and cons. A worthwhile consideration is to use also these resources together.

Human resources are surely the most important resource in our context. To share these abilities together is the main-interest of our network. Here, the most important step is a first meeting to become acquainted with the new partner. But only working situations (workshops, festivals, common productions, common research-projects, conferences...) are able to realize that. Here it is possible to plan what each partner wants to give to the other. Based on these self-statements of all participants, a common event is conceived and executed. Meanwhile, the contact is used in order to discover more about the partners. The experienced knowledge of different resources is captured and works as basis for next projects. It is to consider to learn more and also to achieve other results as it was planed for the common event. That means to widen mental spaces for such kinds of meetings and to point this in the centre of each proposal.

Human-resources can be for example:

  • professional abilities,
  • talents in communication,
  • "know - how " in different disciplines
  • Contacts.

For example it could be that one partner can teach the others a fascinating body-training, another one has experience in organizing festivals, whereas the third has an immense number of international contacts.

But the network as communication between different cultures needs a particular knowledge about each other. Otherwise it fails or becomes "folkloristic". Translations of cultural references into the own cultural understanding must accompany this kind of the communication. One of the most important parts of our research is the development of such kinds of „translations ". Therefore our research program is integrated in all activities of the network.
